Petitioners prepare their own filing here, then decide whether they want counsel. When they do, they publish a redacted listing and you propose. You quote your own fee, the client pays you directly, and what you pay us does not change based on either.

Both charges are fixed amounts published in advance. Neither is computed from your fee, the value of the matter, or the outcome.
Why the structure is what it is
No percentage, ever
Several state bars, New Jersey, Florida, Indiana, New York, Louisiana, concluded that percentage-based “marketing fees” paid to a legal-services platform amount to sharing legal fees with a non-lawyer under Rule 5.4. Flat payments to a referral service sit on the other side of that line. We built to the permitted side and nothing in the codebase can compute a charge from a fee amount.
No escrow
We never hold a legal fee, not even briefly. Your client pays you directly, on your own terms, into your own trust account under your own rules. We are not a party to your retainer and never see it.
Non-exclusive
Listing here does not restrict where else you advertise or who else you work with, consistent with Rule 7.2(b)(4)(i). Petitioners are told plainly that a listing is paid placement in a directory, not a recommendation from us.
Verification first
Your bar number is checked against the state’s public licensee lookup before your account can load a single listing, not before you can be paid, before you can see anything. Petitioners agreed to redacted disclosure on the strength of that gate, so it runs first.
What you actually see
Until the petitioner accepts your proposal, a listing shows you the field, degree level, EB-2 basis, banded experience and publication counts, the scope they want, and their own description of the endeavor with identifying details removed. No name, no employer, no institution, no contact details.

That is a deliberate trade. You are quoting on less than you would have in a normal consultation, which is why proposals here carry a scope and an exclusions field: quote the work, not the person.

Charged on submission, whether or not you are selected. State your fee, your scope, and what is excluded.

They choose
If the petitioner accepts, identity unlocks for you and a message thread opens. Everything after that, retainer, fee, representation, is between you and your client.
The honest version
- Petitioners arrive having already drafted their own petition. Some will want a review rather than full representation, and the scope options reflect that.
- The lead fee is owed on submission. Propose on ten cases and win none, and you have paid ten lead fees and earned nothing. We would rather say that now than have you find out in month two.
- We do not rank by payment, run sponsored placement, or sell a “featured” slot. There is no lever to pull, which is also the point.

Then we verify. A person checks your bar number against your state’s public licensee lookup, confirms the name matches and that no discipline is listed, and records who checked and how. It is manual on purpose: a scraper that silently broke would fail open, quietly verifying attorneys nobody checked. Most clear within two business days, and until then your account cannot load a single case.
